The end of the year offers an opportunity for reflection and perspective; we look on our past works with fresh eyes, observe our accomplishments, and stride forward into the future.
At the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony, this edict is built into our mission to preserve and present works that explore Jewish culture, heritage and experience. We celebrate the great pieces of the past while striving to generate artistic achievements and lessons that will enrich future generations – and this year, we have much to celebrate.
2021 has been a year of innovation, spurred by the generous support of our community.
Amidst our many virtual productions and our return to the stage, we have been working hard behind the scenes to revamp our infrastructure, as well. Last month we debuted our brand-new logo and launched a fresh website that will provide a modern, more accessible home for our great works and programs.
For all of this – and for everything we have planned for the future – we must thank our donors and patrons. The generosity of our community is essential to continuing our mission. Every note we perform, young voice we foster, and heart we touch is the direct result of support we receive, from donations and grants from our sponsors to those who pass along our music to welcome ears.
This week marked the holidays of Sukkot, where we remember that we are temporary of this earth and welcome guests into our temporary shelters, and Simchat Torah, which celebrates the end of the cycle of reading the Torah as we start anew. This is a season of renewal, of recommitment, and of welcoming new people into our circle with our shared love of song and dance.
With that in mind, we’re kicking off our year-end fundraising drive to help us keep our momentum into the new year. The LAJS family of artists, performers and patrons is as strong as ever – with your help, we can preserve that strength and continue our growth. You can send a gift today through our online portal, or you can print this form and mail us your donation.
Thank you, and we look forward to all the music we’ll make together.
