Maestra Noreen Green conducts the Valley Opera and Performing Arts pit orchestra for a production of Fiddler on the Roof at The Sally Field Performing Arts Center in Van Nuys, directed by Johnathan McCullough.

The seminal musical tells the story of Tevye, a milkman in the village of Anatevka who attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon his family’s lives. Fiddler on the Roof is presented through special arrangement with Musical Theater International (MTI); book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick.

Valley Opera & Performing Arts (VOPA) is currently in its 18th season of bringing opera and other musical genres to Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley and beyond. VOPA presents performances of everything from fully staged opera and musical theater works with orchestra, to laid back concerts of jazz standards and even classic rock concerts with its band VOPA Rocks. Through the company’s Opera Tree Outreach, Education, and Community Service program, VOPA provides entertainment for underserved and economically or otherwise disadvantaged communities such as retirement communities, charities, homeless shelters, schools, and hospitals.
