East Meets West: A World of Jewish Music

Wilshire Ebell Theatre
Presented by The Ebell of Los Angeles

The LAJS is thrilled to have been selected for the LA Voices Free Concert Series at the iconic Wilshire Ebell Theatre — an initiative that celebrates the diverse perspectives and cultural expressions of our city through live performances, film screenings, and panel discussions.
East Meets West: A World of Jewish Music is a musical journey across the global Jewish diaspora, highlighting Sephardic, Ashkenazi, and Mizrahi traditions through a compelling and joyful program that speaks to both Jewish and non-Jewish audiences alike. Through evocative rhythms, ancient melodies, and modern interpretations, the concert explores how music connects generations and cultures.
This program is presented in collaboration with Recovered Voices—a Colburn School initiative spotlighting composers whose lives were tragically cut short by the Nazi regime.
Join us in the historic Wilshire Ebell Theatre for an inspiring experience that celebrates identity, resilience, and the power of sound to tell a collective story. This is a FREE event, so save your seat!

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
The Ebell of Los Angeles was founded by women, for women in 1894 and remains dedicated to its original mission. At the first meeting of The Ebell of Los Angeles in 1894, under the leadership of founder and president Harriet Williams Russell Strong, the organizational purpose was adopted:
“To interest women in the study of all branches of literature, art and science and the advancement of women in every branch of culture.”
In 1927, the campus, designed by architect Sumner Hunt, was opened. Today, the women of The Ebell continue to steward and preserve the campus, while opening our doors to the diverse women of Los Angeles. Through social, cultural, and educational programming, we continue to interest women, hosting and curating programming that empowers, inspires, and connects the community.
