Cinema Judaica: Jewish Composers & Hollywood Film Music
Using video highlights from movies, Dr. Noreen Green, artistic director and conductor of the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony (LAJS), will discuss the history of film music concentrating on the contribution of Jewish émigré composers such as Erich Korngold (The Adventures of Robin Hood) and Max Steiner (Gone with the Wind). Having conducted several concerts on the music of Jewish film composers with the LAJS, Dr. Green will share clips from some of those performances with insightful and entertaining commentary.
