David Gill has had a wide range of leadership experience in the Jewish Community. He served not once, but twice as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Valley Beth Shalom Synagogue and also held other offices including Development Chair, a position he filled in several other community organizations.

In the Los Angeles Jewish Federation Council, David served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee where he held several Vice-Presidencies. He has chaired the Los Angeles-Tel Aviv Partnership that is a most successful cultural exchange, the Israel & Overseas Committee, the Pluralism and Religious Diversity Committee, the San Fernando Valley Campaign and the Legal Services Division. David’s contributions extend beyond the Los Angeles community. He served as a member of the Board of Governors for the Jewish Agency for Israel and on the Committees on the Unity of the Jewish People and Soviet Jewry. David was the Regional Chair for the National UJA and a member of its Young Leadership Cabinet.

At Hillel at UCLA, David served on the Board of Directors and Development Committee and David has served on the Board of Directors of the Schulweis Institute since its inception. At Brandeis-Bardin Institute, he was a member of the Executive Committee and served as the Development Chair, and served on the Board of Directors of the American Jewish University. He is the recipient of the prestigious Bruce Hochman—Maimonides Community Torch of Justice Award.

David is also a musician, an accomplished pianist and a highly regarded tenor who has sung for many years with the VBS Congregational Choir and now also with the AJU Choir. David is also an active participant in the Plato Society where he teaches and attends classes.
